Yup.
Had a "real" lunch (some leftover shrimp scampi and a spinach salad) and went downtown for a little break while the extract I need to apply to the seeds today was "cooking."
Found some lovely birthday and Mother's Day cards at one shop (I still have to obtain gifts, but at least I have cards, and I have ideas in mind for the gifts).
And then the quilt shop.
I walked in and took a deep breath. Quilt fabric smells like peace to me.
(Wool smells like comfort, which is kind of similar).
I found some of the 1930s reproduction solids I wanted, including an orange (the right orange can be hard to find) and also a piece of fabric for an eventual Asian-themed quilt (I have the backing already - a large-scale print of flowers and old-style "photographs" of Japanese women. I just need to accumulate some pieces in the right color family (orangey pinks, dark greens, and browns) and with the right "mood").
It is SO NICE to have a quilt shop right downtown. I am so glad it is there.
I even got to pet the shop cat.
The lady who owns the shop said that she hoped to be able to expand in the future - there's a very large old office-supply shop that's always on the point of going out of business and she said when they sell their building (which might be wishful thinking on her part but it would be nice) she wants to buy it, because then, "I'd have the largest quilt shop in Oklahoma."
Dang.
That would be AWESOME. I hope she gets to do it, and not just so that I have a fun place to shop - it always makes me happy to see small businesspeople being successful.
I think after I apply the extracts I'm going to go home and weed the front flowerbeds, and maybe run out to the garden center and see if their zinnias are ready yet.

ooh fabric. I wish I knew how to sew. Everytime we go to this amazing quilting shop in Shipshewana Indiana I seriously consider taking on another hobby.
