Well, hooray.

I woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and decided to call the pre-recorded information line (there was no way I was able to stay up to 10 pm. I started to get tired around 8:30 - it's been a busy week - so I went to bed and read for a while before going to sleep).

They have closed campus for the day. Normally I don't like missing a day of class but I'm relieved that none of my Ecology students will have to feel like they need to take the risk to come in to take an exam (although, as I said before, I think they all should be aware of my willingness to allow them an alternate time in this situation).

Also, I don't have to drive in, and the last time I looked at the street outside my house it looked kind of ugly - big piles of slush again, and it's below freezing right now.

I did all the grading I had (all the grading for the weekend, as it turns out, because the exam is now postponed). I did all the analysis of the lespedeza data this week (part of why it was a busy week) (And there are PATTERNS! There is some reasonable way to interpret it! And the grasses in my experiment ARE more strongly affected by the allelopathy than forbs are!)

I brought home the list of "lichens likely to be found in this area" that I'm compiling, plus a couple textbooks I need to look over some time to decided if I want to change for one class, and if my team teacher and I for another class want to adopt a "real" textbook instead of using the little handouts we made. So I've got stuff to do.

And I've got my knitting. Of course. Not having to leave the house means I can start on the lichen stuff - well, right after breakfast - and probably get that done this morning. And I can probably knit on the second "Sweet Tooth" sock (the simple ribbed ones) while looking over the textbooks.

Charlotte, I've read most of P.D. James' books. I have her most recent one (Or I think it's the most recent) - The Murder Room - still to read. I think she is one of the better mystery writers out there.

And Kucki, I've heard of the Maisie Dobbs series but never read any - someday when I need to find a new series, I probably will read that one.

Forgot, on a lighter note there is also the Daisy Dalrymple series that is fun.
