This is what I am giving myself for making it through the day.
(Do you remember those little foil star stickers - I don't remember if Avery or Denison made them - they were foil, and a little bit embossed, and the back of them was gummed like stamps used to be before they were all self-adhesive? Those were great because you could literally stick one on your forehead. [I had a teacher who did that when someone was particularly good or did something particularly well; she'd put a gold star on your forehead. She'd probably get in trouble for that in this day and age, but when I was a kid, most of us kids loved it and tried for our chance to get our stars.]).

Yes! Those were wonderful!
I'm glad you got through.
i remember those too. i had a chart for something at home when i was a kid, and they used those stars.
as for a teacher not doing that today, it made me think of something. when i walked into school yesterday (school knitting club) i saw a female teacher put her arm around a male student's shoulders. now, she was obviously old enough to be his grandmother, but it surprised me (now, it didn't offend me, i think some of this PC crap has gone too far). it makes me wonder what the policy is at my son's school.
