I finished the Landscape Shawl last night.

landscape sections

I haven't blocked it; I'm not entirely sure that I'm going to, because it looks OK unblocked.

(These pictures came out darker than I thought they had. It's kind of hard to see the detail of the shawl).

landscape closeup

You can kind of see some of the stitch patterning here.

And here it is on. I'm actually wearing it today. (Today is one of my rare non-messy work days.) It's nice and warm, all that merino wool. For something so lightweight, it's kind of surprising how warm it is. (We're having cool weather again today, after a high in the low 80s yesterday).

landscape back

And finally, the obligatory, Cheryl-Oberle-style shot showing the back of the shawl (and as I said before: it would take 2 to 2 1/2 of Cheryl Oberle to make one of me...)

That shawl is on my "to do" list. During the summer I wasn't able to find the pattern in any shop I visited so I borrowed it from a friend in my knitting group. Now she wants it back ... I haven't started the shawl yet ... and I can't find it! So I called ThreadBear and they, thankfully, did have the pattern in stock and are sending it to me. Hope it gets here before I see her next Tuesday.

I have a stock of LionBrand Homespun that I was thinking of using. Are you familiar with this yarn? Do you think it would work okay in this pattern? I love how your picots on the edge turned out.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm still feeling my way with writing it.

It looks wonderful on you!!! I think it might be still a good idea to block it, lace can be surprising that way from what I read on the blogs...
