dragonknitter - next time I am both at home and have time to get to my computer, I'll post the recipe.

That may take a while. Tomorrow is the Dreaded Volunteer Task Day. I'm reminding myself that I get Monday off (MLK day, just about the ONLY Federal Holiday we get off). They (the "they" on campus) propose this as a "day of service" where we help out our communities. Well, I'm counting Saturday's day of service as my day of service for this.

I realize it is somewhat petty of me to be irritated at being given a day "off" and then being told I should be spending it in "service." But when you have volunteer duties that take you away from home, sometimes 3 nights a week, it is kind of irritating to be told "you need to do more." No. I am already the "George" of "Let George do it..."

At any rate.

Knit some more on the Landscape Shawl last night. Really want this one to be done but it probably won't be any time soon. I'm on the last section (where you're doing all five stitch patterns) and the thing is very wide so each row takes a long time. (I have perhaps 50 rows left to do).

I have ideas in mind for my Super (super!) Special (special!) Secret (secret!) Projects (AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!) [a/k/a the Pay it Forward projects]. In one case I have to try to find a particular type of finding, in the others I just have to get busy on them. One will be knitted, one will be crocheted, one will be pieced. So I'm not making 3 of the same thing and getting bored with it. And yes, I'm making an effort to make them appropriate to the interests and lifestyles of the recipients.

I finished the first baby sweater that's part of my pay-it-forward efforts last week. Still need to make a hat to go with it. I used the 5-hour baby sweater pattern and wasn't too impressed. The needle size was much larger than I would have liked with the yarn I chose from my stash. It also took me more than 5 hours. Now I just must put the ribbon in the neckline and knit the hat and I'll have one ready to go.
