Update: I called them. The woman called me "sweetheart" (ick. I really only like people who, you know, actually KNOW me to call me endearments) and told me that...
there is a part on order.
So it is just going to be cold.
This happened this summer too - there was a "part on order" for the air conditioning and we just had to be hot for a couple of weeks.
Incidentally, the company that built and installed our never-working HVAC system? And who continues to claim there is "nothing wrong" with it although it seems to break down on a regular basis? And who will not come out even when asked to inspect the system to see if their assumption that it works right is correct?
Siemens.
Kindly remember that if you are ever looking to hire someone to do a large HVAC installation. Or for that matter if you are looking to invest money in a company.
I am cancelling my office hours today. I do not care. I am going to try to get in touch with the make-up exam student but I cannot sit in here from the time my class lets out at noon until 1:30 when she is supposed to get here and freeze.
You would think that they might, you know, let us know or something? But maybe not because supposedly having electric space heaters in offices is taboo.
