Spent the better part of the afternoon helping cook at a local effort that provides a hot meal for people who wouldn't otherwise get one.
I had no idea how much of an effort it is to make enough food to feed 200 at one go. I'm tired out.
(It was "chicken spaghetti," a dish common around here. It's kind of like Tetrazzini but it has Ro-Tel in it.)
I'm still cruising around to see examples of Amigurumi. This one is so frinking cute that I think I may have to try to figure out my own version of it.
And some knitted things:
extremely cute ant
Hedgehog (this is different from the hedgehog I plan on making; the pattern I am going to use is in the FCEK Toy book). Hedgehogs seem to me to be one of the more reasonable uses of the fun-fur type yarns.
Monty the Monkey (I am resisting ALL KINDS of "metrosexual" jokes here, y'all. You have to SEE this pattern.)
Hello Kitty (Though I suppose with some green yarn and a bit of added i-cord decorations, it could be modified into a Hello Chtulhu.)
And for the fans of sea creatures: a felted jellyfish. You know, to keep your Nauties and various Squids company.
And this is not a toy animal, but the same person who invented the felted Jellyfish also has a pattern for "Meiosis lace". Except that one you do have to order and pay for, if you want it. But still - it's biology, it's geeky, and it's knitting. (I may have to order myself a copy.)
