As promised, the "after" photos.
First, a sort of overview. I took this standing up against the small window in the office, looking towards my desks.
(in that photo you can see the "Emergency Procedures Handbook" which has been the target of a lot of jokes around the department. There is one bolted to the wall about every 20 feet and at least one per lab/office/classroom. It has helpful, common-sense information like, "If the building is on fire, leave the building." Uh-huh. Like I'm going to take the time to check to see what the handbook says if there's a fire, or a chemical spill, or a crazed former student with a gun...)
These two shots are from similar perspectives to the "before" shots:
(that's one of the Campus Environmental Club's frisbees on the desk. Somehow I wound up as the caretaker of them. It's full of paperclips I scavenged from paper I shredded, and I plan to give the paperclips back to the secretary for reuse).

Well apparently this post flicked a switch in my brain because now *I'm* cleaning my desk. I found all sorts of fun things, and it's vasty improved the awful "I'm going to quit and work at a yarn store" mood I've been in. So thanks.
