More Wilbur!

(Not that there's been a lot of clamor for More Wilbur, but I wanted a couple more pictures with him).

I earned a little money selling some books I couldn't use. I always regard money like that as "windfall" money, where I can use it just to have a little fun. So I went a little crazy in the miniatures aisle of the craft store, and Wilbur now has a cozy corner:

It's a little washed out because I had to use flash. (I tried the "extreme night" setting but my hands are not steady enough to take a long exposure photo without blurring, and the shelf is too high for me to try to rig some kind of a tripod using a chair).

He has a pair of wing chairs (which he doesn't sit too terribly well in), a small tea table, a fireplace, some tea cookies and plates (I love those little cookies, I think they show up better in the next shot). I also couldn't resist the toaster and "toast" (which doesn't fit in the slots of the toaster, boo) and the copper pans. (I guess Wilbur does his cooking in the fireplace.)

I still don't have a "real" house for him but he seems content enough on my Dickens shelf. (That's an oldish set of Dickens works - well, most of them, a few are missing - that I got very cheaply at an antiques shop). Or at least, I will be content enough for him to live there until some day when I come in to my house carrying something large, knock into the bookshelf, and knock everything down and lose a couple of the smaller things down the floor register.

Here's a more close-up shot, taken using "extreme night vision" on the camera, and setting it right on the shelf:

Looming in the foreground (and looking unnaturally large) are a plastic fork and spoon that were here in the house when I bought it. I guess they were from a dollhouse - the odd thing is, the people who lived before me didn't have children, and as far as I know, neither of them were dollhouse-keepers. But Wilbur owns the fork and spoon now.

Cute! He's eyeing the pots and pans with great interest.

Oh yes! More Wilbur anytime!

Are you going to teach him to knit?
