Got some of the sewing-up done on Fred last night. He also has eyes and an antenna and some buttons on his front (but no mouth yet).

it's frustrating going to an evening meeting of a group where everyone else is retired. People tend to forget what it's like to have to be up at a particular time in the morning.

I think the migraine yesterday was actually allergies - I feel wiped out and sick to my stomach today, and I've been sneezing randomly, which is usually a sign of allergies for me. I've decided that if I can get done what I need to get done this morning, I'm going to "bug out" this afternoon and go home early - after all, my stomach is pretty upset today. (I do also have to get my taxes into the mail, and I always like to send them from the post office. And I want to get to the post office before "Amazon Man" - wait, I've never mentioned "Amazon Man" - there's this retired guy in town who sells a lot of used books through Amazon apparently [I peeked at the return address he had on his packages one day and it had hisname(Amazon) on them.]. This is a guy who shows up at the post office sometime between 3 pm and closing and he has about 85 packages to mail every time. And each package is different so it must be weighed separately. And our post office is SMALL. And one of the clerks is excessively chatty with people she knows. I totally envy Cari or whoever it was that has a self-serve kiosk, we don't have that. Usually, there are either one or two stations open - so when "Amazon Man" is there, things slow waaaaaaaaaay down. I've waited on line for as long as 15 minutes when he was there and there weren't enough people working. [I do not know why they do not set a rule at the post office that you have to either come within 15 minutes of opening or 15 minutes of closing, or go to a separate window, or make you work with the postmistress in her office if you have multiple packages - say, more than three. It's very frustrating to NEED to do something at a window {if it's just buying stamps there is a machine} and find that there are eighteen people in line ahead of you.] So anyway, I time my post-office times carefully, because there are also a couple other people in town, like Amazon Man, who apparently make a living buying stuff at one price and reselling it for another, higher, one. And they send it all through the mail.)

I was cheered up some by the sight of a Monarch butterfly visiting the zinnias I planted a couple of weeks ago. If I had more time (and a larger sunny area), I'd plant a whole butterfly garden full of things that are supposed to be attractive to them. (I like to think the butterfly was one of the ones returning from Mexico, trying to get a little sustenance before trying to find some milkweed to lay its eggs on - it did look a little "worn").

There's an "Amazon man" who shows up at my post office and I've been stuck behind him before too. Very frustrating when all you want to do is get a book of stamps! My post office is fairly large but there's this one postal worker who is really sloooow, like he's already half-way to retirement.
