I can tell this is going to be a challenging day. Already this morning I nearly put the milk "away" in the stove rather than the fridge, and when I was walking out to my garage, I thought, oh crud, I left my garage-door opener in the house and I'll have to go back and unlock both doors again and get it, when said door opener was in my hand.
(This is allergies. The elm trees have already started flowering here. Apparently I am going to have to put up with this for 3-4 months this year rather than the usual 2).
I also received an email that contained the phrase "what do you expect me to do about it?" (re: some class stuff) which had the effect of making me cranky. Before 7:30 am.
I can tell I'm in a bad mood today and it frustrates me that that knowledge doesn't help to get me out of the bad mood. Being meta should be good for SOMETHING.
I think part of it is the time of the month (sigh), part of it is allergies, but a big part is that the Valentine's Day Blitzkreig has begun. (And Prom Season. Seriously. They are already talking about Prom Season on the local news here: what's going to be hot for girls to wear, what kind of hairstyles are in. I could get behind talking about something three to four months in advance of it if we were discussing college entrance or planning for jobs - but Prom Season? Gah. I didn't even go to my own prom, and it's not something I've ever regretted). Yes, yes, I know I claimed to be "over" Valentine's Day and to consider it an artificial holiday, and all that. But nothing screams at you "You're single and alone and you don't matter!" than the morning local news doing a feature on florists and wedding chapels and all that crap.
If I didn't need to know what the weather was going to be right where I live (rather than the Weather Channel's broad generalization), I'd quit watching the local morning news. Because it seems that the percentage of stupid fluff has gone up sharply in the past year.
I did start the right front of the Cache-coeur last night. I got up to the increases for the bustline (I'm guessing it's the bustline). Next step is to increase on one side every 3 rows while decreasing on the other side every 6 rows. I hope I'm up for that; it doesn't seem that the Bergamo would survive being ripped back very well. It's a very delicate yarn; I've noticed if you pull it too hard the little individual threads that are woven together can split.
