Arrgh. I don't know if a low pressure is coming in, or if I overdid it in my workout yesterday (I can't tack on any more TIME - I'm doing an hour as it is, and to do more would mean getting up BEFORE 5 am, which even this early bird refuses to do - so I'm trying to work out at a faster PACE). But I hurt. All over.
One of my colleagues, who has fibromyalgia, says she hurts today too. So maybe it's not me, it's the weather.
Good news is I only teach one class today, so I can get some research work done. And go home a wee bit early to sweep the floors and scrub the kitchen - which I didn't do on my cleaning rounds this weekend, as Book Club meets at my place this week and I wanted to do the floors and whatnot closer to the actual DAY.
Knit a bit more on Spherey last night. I'm using cream colored Woolease for the body and will probably use a blue and green variegated ("Pines Print") for his arms and legs. He is tentatively named Eggbert (even though my car is also named Eggbert) unless he looks like a somebody else when he's done. I also think he is going to get a female companion; it occurred to me I could knit another one of these out of some peach colored yarn I have and call her "Peachy." (Yeah, so it's a dumb name).
And more on toys or toy like objects: TChem has a pattern out for a Knitted Toy Robot that is considerably different from Jess Hutchinson's robots, and who rather closely resembles the little sidekick of a certain green alien. (Dog suit not included).
And here's a cute monkey, apparently named Mr. Dangly. (The pattern is by the same person who knitted a tribute to Dawn of the Dead. And the person who knitted a tribute to Shaun of the Dead. People's creativity never fails to amaze me. And I am humbled: I think of myself as creative, or I like to, and then I see this stuff, and I want to fall down and do a full Wayne-n-Garth "We're not worthy!")
There's also a new knitted toy book coming out; I pre-ordered it and it's supposed to be here sometime early next month. I'm excited by the idea of more new patterns to look at and contemplate.
And don't forget the Contest!

My husband is a librarian and claims that calling him "Gir" falls under fair use because I'm not selling him, so it's okay, he's Gir.
I've got to go back through and change some of the intentionally vague bits, now.
I love knitted toys, too! Did you see her knitted White Stripes? I just love them!
Okay, here's my entry for the contest - my daddy's all-time favorite joke!
How do you catch a polar bear?
First, go to the North Pole. Get out your Artic Ice Saw and cut a hole in the ice. Now, it's a little known fact that polar bears love black-eyed peas, so I hope you remembered to bring the black-eyed peas. Place them carefully all around the hole. Now hide behind an igloo and wait. Watch carefully. And...
WHEN THE BEAR COMES TO TAKE A PEA, KICK HIM IN THE ICEHOLE!!!
hee hee hee.
oh dear. too funny! and it doesn't matter if it's a high or a low coming through, if it's any kind of major change (snow to clear, or clear to cloudy) i'll get some sort of headache out of it. it depends on what other stressors i have in my life, whether or not it turns into a migraine. ugh
