And still more cute:

Jess Hutch Crafts.

She's the designer of Kate, and also has a free bunny pattern on the web.

I bought her little book of toy patterns. It came today - super fast - and I like it. I definitely am going to make myself a "Spherey" (the toy in the upper right hand corner of the cover picture). Her toys remind me a little of the Sanrio and San-X characters. (Actually more San-X than Sanrio - that "odd but cute" vibe rather than that "Hello Kitty Loves You! Hello Kitty Wants to Take Over the World! All Your Base Are Belong to Hello Kitty!" vibe.

(And: hahahahaha: Kogepan Christmas Cards. That's kind of like "A.A. Milne's version of Eeyore Christmas Cards" or perhaps rather "Puddleglum Christmas Cards." Dang, I wish I had seen those earlier - I went with a reproduction of a vintage illustration of a poinsettia and a verse from one of Lowell's poems. Then again, the Kogepan cards are shockingly expensive...)

No, I do not know for sure why I suddenly have an obsession with "cute." I go through phases of liking many things a 16 year old Japanese schoolgirl would like. I do not know why. Call it a cyclic hormonal thing and let's leave it at that.

The exams are all graded and the grades are in; I'm wiped out. I wish I had been able to finish my research stuff this morning (shaking my fist at the squirrels that blew the transformer; I hope they're enjoying Squirrel Heaven), but I'm going to have to go in tomorrow for at least a couple hours.
