Well, a cheerier end to a day when I've been doubting myself. A long-lost friend from high school just emailed me and asked me how I was. This was someone I had corresponded with, off and on, since high school, and we lost track of each other at some point (I suspect it happened when I bought my house and moved - an in-town move but some of my mail still never followed me). I had thought of her from time to time and wondered what she was up to.
