signed up for the Science Knits webring.
if they let me in - if I talk enough about science on here. Also, I don't know if this will make me uncomfortably "public," as in someone I might know outside of blogdom might find the blog. We'll see.

I'm still grading. The loneliness of the long-distance grader. (Heh, that was a phrase used once in a TA-training session I attended). The general bio homework of the week involved them proposing a hypothesis and suggesting ways to test it.

One guy proposed that cheap beer gave a worse hangover than more expensive beer, and described how he'd recruit people to drink-to-excess and then record their symptoms.

I wrote on his paper: "Interesting concept, but not very ethical [we had had a discussion the day before in class of use-and-care of animal and human subjects]...and I don't just mean because you're asking people to drink Keystone!"

Hey, if they are gonna try to be cute and inflammatory, I'm gonna try to be cute and inflammatory right back.
