Forced myself to seam up Zelda last night:
zeldadone.JPG

Zelda will now have to aestivate (yah, I prefer the British spelling) for a few months, until perhaps November, when it's cool enough to wear about five pounds of wool on one's back.

The *knitting* on it was not so much hot and uncomfortable, but the seaming got a little that way. Throw in the added "thrill" of pins (i.e., "am I going to stick myself if I hold it this way while I seam") and it wasn't much fun.

I'm not a big fan of finishing. I don't mind mattress stitch but I am not so fond of joining a cast-on or -off edge to a side edge; that feels more awkward.

I also swatched for the Bookworm vest to be made of Fable; got gauge (even row gauge). I cast on this morning and started the first garter st row. I'm excited about this project but that's how I always am with any kind of new project.

It looks really nice. The red is a good color on you.

I can't wait to see the bookworm vest.
