Despite the heat and humidity (my house is well-insulated, I have some nice cool clothes to wear, and I have a good central A/C system), I finished the knitting-part on Zelda - sleeves yesterday (they're just about dry from being blocked) and the turtleneck/cowlneck (it's inbetween the two) neckline just a bit ago.

Now I have to gear up for seaming. If I can force myself to get all through it today, I'll have a picture up tomorrow.

I also wound off the Fable for my next project - I have seven skeins but my rough estimate says that the Bookworm vest should take just under five, so I only wound off five. I do need to swatch: the Fable says it has a gauge of 4 sts per inch on a size 8 and the pattern calls for 4.5 on a size 7, so I suspect a seven will work fine, but I'll have to check to be sure.

One of my purchases this weekend was a cheapie "barstool" from the Target - it was $20 but it solves one problem I had. I keep the swift set up in my bedroom (clamped to the top of a low bookshelf) but I didn't have a permanent (or even semi permanent) spot for the ballwinder - I had to either bring in a dining room chair or the chair from my sewing machine and clamp the swift to it. I had been looking for something - either a chair or a stool - that was high enough so I could clamp the winder on it and not have to sit on the floor, and leave the winder attached more or less permanently. (I can also use the stool, with the winder detached, as a place to lay out the next day's clothes, or as an auxiliary bedside table - like to hold a bottle of water and the Kleenex when I have a cold). I had looked at some chairs and things in antique shops over the past couple months but didn't see anything that I liked well enough to justify the price. I think $20 is okay, and the stool is nice and sturdy and kind of a Mission style.

So now I have a ball-winder-holder that is tall enough so I can comfortably sit on the foot of my bed and wind off yarn.
