still procrastinating.....

not to be snarky, but if a manufacturer/yarnseller had a giant overstock of something they wanted to get rid of fast, they could have someone post on the knitlist that it had suddenly been discontinued. There's a total flurry (including some accusatory comments about Lion Brand...) about the discontinuance of Cotton-Ease.

I dunno. Never tried the yarn. Looked at it plenty times in the store but was always kind of "meh" about the colors - too popsickley for me. I don't think I'm going to be rushing out to my JoAnn's or Hobby Lobby to stock up (Although I will say the comment that Tuesday Morning had it - we just now got a Tuesday Morning in Sherman. I've been in a Tuesday Morning - in the town where my parents live - once or twice and was unimpressed. Kind of like the ubiquitous "dollar stores," I thought, but with higher-end merchandise - it seemed everything was all jumbled everywhere and you weren't all that likely to find what you were looking for. But if they carry yarn...well, that's a different matter.)

I will say, if Lion Brand dropped Cotton Ease just so they can have the space in their product line to crank out yet another iteration of Fun Fur - well, that's pretty unforgivable in my book. We have Fun Fur, variegated Fun Fur, Fun Fir with bits hanging off it, Fun Fur with bobs hanging off it, Fun Fur with glitter...I can't even imagine what the next Fun Fur clone could possibly be.
