Added a few more inches on to the Moebius scarf last night. I'm within 10" of being finished.
I did finally get the new KnitPicks catalog, but I was not one of the lucky few to receive samples. Oh well. I have been looking at the yarns and thinking how nice it would be to acquire a bunch of yarns for some of the shawls in "Folk Shawls," or do the Hourglass Sweater in Last-Minute Knitted Gifts out of that mouline yarn they have. So far, I've not succumbed to ordering anything; I have far too much ahead and as far as I can tell, these yarns should be available for a good while. (One of the things that irritates me about some yarn companies or yarn sellers is that once you find a yarn you really like, either the yarn sellers you trust drop the line [or reduce their offerings to just a couple colors - Patternworks, are you listening? I loved in the old days how you'd use a little rainbow symbol to indicate that you were committed to carrying every color in a particular line] or, worse, the manufacturer discontinues the yarn. I know, that's asking for a level of stability in my world that probably could never exist, but it's unfortunate when you come around to wanting to make a particular pattern and then finding the yarn you had in mind is only available as a "collector's item" on e-bay).
I am feeling some better today; I was actually able to sleep for most of the night last night. I hauled out my vaporizer again - it feels just wrong to be using a humidifier in mid-April, but that was what it took to keep me from coughing myself to pieces every five minutes or so. I'm going to TRY to teach my one-hour lecture and two-hour lab today. I'd be happier if I didn't have to talk at all (right now, the cold is in my chest and voicebox) but I cancelled a class yesterday and it distresses me to be basically mobile and conscious and not-too-tired and yet cancel class. I know, I suppose I'm making it last longer by insisting on teaching, but I can't bring myself to take a sickday for a stupid cold.
