One of my colleagues found a critter and brought it in (he didn't know what it was). It's freaky looking, like something out of an Indiana Jones movie.
I'm always curious about such things, and often kind of good at guessing I.D.'s, so I looked it up:
Apparently, it's a Bipalium kewense, a type of land planarian. (Picture here; the one my colleague found is more greenish than brown.
It seems it's not the most desirable of species, either:

The one my colleague found will probably wind up as part of our zoology collection.

OK I read the pdf and I only have one complaint (besides that they EAT EARTHWORMS! How evil. I thought for sure they were herbivorous). They said that they have no anus and then they said that their mouth also functioned as an anus. So then they DO have an anus, it's just dual-purpose. Right? Anyway, thanks for the enlightenment. I wonder if they respond to salt like slugs do...
