Finished the back of the Zelda pullover, and cast on for the front (It's Exam 2 in ecology today, so I wanted something simple to work on while I proctored).
And I have to brag on my Youth Group kids (or a couple of them, at least) again: I got a worried phone call from the church secretary yesterday afternoon. She wanted to know if anyone had provided food for the kids. Turns out, when the custodian came in yesterday, the kitchen and eating area were so clean (and there was no trash in the cans) that he thought that we either hadn't met, or not had dinner.
Well, as it turns out, I had mentioned in passing (I think mainly as a way of getting the younger ones to stop throwing the table decorations at each other while they were supposed to be eating) that the custodian was out of town this week because of a death in his wife's family (I didn't know it but he was back already). Anyway, after the lesson, while the rest of the kids were playing ping-pong or air-hockey, two of the older boys, under their own initiative, went down and swept and mopped and wiped down the tables and took the trash out.
Yes, I've let their parents know what they did. I'm really quite tickled by it because one of the kids is one I wouldn't have expected to have thought of such a thing.
