Spectacularly unprepared for some football

(that line, or one very like it, in yesterday's Sally Forth, made me chuckle).

I really am not a sports fan. I'll watch it if I'm with someone who cares about it, but otherwise, eh. Especially since none of the teams I anywhere-near-followed were in the Bowl. And I figured ahead of time (correctly) that it would be a Patriots win.

So instead, I listened to music, read on the new books acquired at the used-book store on Saturday. And I knit.

I finished the armwarmers. No pictures yet; I decided to wash and block them to soften the yarn up a little. It did, in fact, take only one skein of the Kureopatora, with a tiny bit left over. Of course, I in no way tried to match colors and in fact the two armwarmers look like they're knit from different, but complementary, colorways. So I've got another skein of Kureopatora to play with.

I also finished the pink Whisper hat - just a simple rollbrimmed hat but WHAT a fight to get it done. I really detest this yarn; I don't generally have "never again" yarns but this one is one. I mean, it's nice knit up but it's a giant PITA to knit. (I have a skein leftover. I don't know whether to give it away or whether to try crocheting on it - it might crochet up more easily, but for knitting it is too slippery and too prone to sliding off the needles and spontaneously dropping stitches - even using the "grabbiest" wood needles I had).

Then I switched over to the Feather and Fan socks; got as far as the heel flap. (This is the second of two socks). It's good to blow out a few of the small projects that are ongoing; I want to get back to the Hiawatha shawl and the Zelda pullover soon.
