All day rain today.
Normally, I would be rejoicing about rain on practically-the-first-day-of-July here, but since we've had little else but rain for the whole month of June, streets are flooding, soil is eroding, and it's to the point where I don't appreciate it any more. (Although, I will say, I'd be really grateful for a couple days like this in late July, August, and September).
Finished sewing up the Dolman Updated last night. Tried it on again. You know, I don't hate it. It's not as bad as I thought. There are four possible reasons for this:
1. The Physics Reason: When the seams were just pinned, they didn't stretch properly, and they took up more of the ease than the sewn seams do.
2. The Physiological Reason: I was retaining a lot of water Monday night that I was not last night. (well, it's *possible*).
3. The Psychological Reason: I was expecting something else - a loose, baggy type of sweater when I tried it on Monday night and was immediately disappointed. I was expecting a tight, sausage-casing sort of sweater when I tried it on Tuesday night and was pleasantly surprised. Bonus reason: I was feeling "fat" on Monday.
4. The Mystical Reason: The Magick Sweater Elves came in the night and stretched the too-tight parts of the sweater for me.
Of all of those, I think #3 is the most plausible, but I have to admit I like #4 the best.
I'm knitting the neckband on it, hopefully will have a picture tonight or tomorrow morning.
