Well, graduation was today.

And as always, I am reminded that I watched too many cartoons in my youth.

"Why?" you ask?

Well, the recessional they use every single time is the "Pilgrim's Chorus" from Tannhauser. And so, instead of reflecting on how we have fledged a new crop of young people out into the work world, I picture What's Opera, Doc and Bugs Bunny in a tin bra and a Viking helmet with braids, riding a fat white horse down the side of a hill, to fool Elmer Fudd, who is in the guise of some pseudo-Wagnerian storm god.

I swear one year I'm going to start singing
"Return my love, a longing burns deep inside me
Return my love, I want you always beside me
A love like ours must be
Made for you and for me
Return, won't you return my love, for my love is yours"

as I walk out of there.
