Working away on the Kilimanjaro Kat shawl. It's getting to the point where I can see being finished with the central square.

And, being the kind of person who has to read ahead, I checked out the edging instructions. The good news is the edging doesn't have to be sewn on or grafted on. The bad news is I have to pick up 117 stitches on each edge for the edging.

I'll be glad to be done with this; I think I'm through with the really super-fine laceweight yarn for a while. Especially the kid mohair kind that has all kinds of little fluffs that come off it and get caught on things or adhere to my clothes or my nose.

I've tried on several occasions to photograph the shawl-in-progress, but I haven't got a shot yet that looked good. I think I need to go buy a piece of black posterboard to put up behind the shawl so the stitch patterns will show up.

Still haven't blocked the Chinese vest; I just haven't had the energy to either tape towels to my sewing-room floor or strip all the quilts off the bed in the guest room. I think the vest does need blocking, though, to pull the fronts down even with the lengths of the band.
