Well, after considering what I could post here that would be tres amusant and just a total lark for April Fool's Day, I'm coming up empty.

The only good April Fool's joke I every played (good in that it worked and fooled the person) was an email I sent to a friend on April 1, 2000, detailing all of the wonderful things going on in my life - I had met a wonderful man named Charles, who taught in the French department here, and I was planning to have a house built to my specifications, and I had gone to the Indian Bingo place and won $1000. I finished the letter with some kind of offhand comment that ended "...and don't forget to change your calendar".

And my friend bought it. And this was a person who used to answer the phone in all kinds of crazy ways on April 1, and who once freaked out our graduate advisor (and ticked me off) by putting vaseline on all the door handles. So I thought for sure she'd figure out what I was doing, that it was all too over the top.

But since you don't know me, not really, and since you're not necessarily the hardened, un-gullible sort, I can't think of anything entertaining to do.

I will say this week has to be some sort of a record for me:

Monday: Book Club meeting
Tuesday: Worship Committee Meeting
Wednesday: the usual youth thing at church
Thursday: AAUW
Friday: dental appointment to get a cavity filled
Saturday: youth trip to a state park, will probably be all day.

I feel like I deserve some kind of a fluster* after this week. The sad thing is, I don't feel motivated to look for anything, I have so much yarn and fabric and so many books ahead that I'm kind of overwhelmed and can't think of the joy of shopping for more.

I did, last night, get all the stitches picked up and the first couple rows knit of the neckband on the Chinese vest. So those stitches can no longer fall off their holders.

(*I still have not found anyone outside my family who has heard of this concept, at least by this name.)
