Three unrelated things:
First of all: there was an absolutely beautiful sunrise this morning (saw it as I drove in to work). I find it hard to believe that anything bad could happen on a day with such a beautiful sunrise.
Second: evidence that I am either a dinosaur or a terminal late-adopter: the news station I listen to when I work out had an ad boasting this morning "We are now wireless!" and I thought "Huh? hasn't radio called itself 'wireless' since the nineteen-teens? didn't I have a book when I was a little kid called 'Uncle Wiggly and the Wireless'* ?"
Turns out the station was pointing out they now broadcast in such a way that wireless devices like the "Blackberry" can pick them up. Oh. Nevermind.
*(which I inherited from my grandmother)
and finally: I had never tried eating real maple syrup on Cream of Wheat before. It is delicious. (My food-related prediction for 2004: researchers will find some bizarre antioxidant or phytochemical that keeps you young in maple syrup. There will be an international run on the product, and there will be a maple-syrup-containing soda produced).
