Well, this is shaping up to be one of those weeks where I Do Not Get To Knit.

sigh.

I did do most of the swatch for the "Bookworm Vest" this morning before going to work - using Sirdar's Donegal Tweed in the color called "chocolate". My substitution-yarn-getting-gauge-mojo continues - tried the needle called for and got the requisite 18 sts to four inches, or 4.5 sts to the inch. (I haven't checked the row gauge yet, I want to do more rows first).

I think the Sirdar yarn will be nice for this - it's less scratchy than most "Donegal" style yarns.

I do need to go to the Interweave site; as I remember there were some corrections for this pattern.

Beyond that, things are progressing. The congregation I am still a part of is viable - at least for now. I am now a member of the Worship Committee and the default-deaconess (with one other person). I didn't join the choir but might consider it after the holidays.

no, I really don't NEED more responsibilities, but sometimes it is simply necessary to take them on.
