I've made the pocket-flap on the front of the Circus Pullover, and am progressing towards the point where I knit the live stitches at the top of the pocket to the live stitches making up the body. I've finally mastered the yarn, and am reading articles on community assembly rules (such as we understand them) as I knit.
And yeah, here is "I suck" reason #46 - I said I had blown my fall yarn budget, but what do I do this morning, but run over to Ardmore (for an unrelated errand) and go to the Hobby Lobby there. The much bigger Hobby Lobby in a town where, apparently, more people knit and crochet.
You see where this is going.
They have yarn the Sherman Hobby Lobby doesn't have. And they also keep the shelves actually stocked, mirabile dictu. So I am now the owner of a skein of Magic Stripes (yeah, I know, but I wanted to compare Lion Brand's striping yarn to the other brands), two skeins of Hot Socks (Hobby Lobby carry sock yarn? I thought that was un-possible!). (True, it's all-synthetic, but it doesn't feel oooky). I also found a weird Bernat yarn called "Boa," which is sort of a feathery yarn or a one-sided eyelash (if that makes sense). I bought a few skeins to play with (it was cheap) and one of the ball bands has a one-skein hat pattern on it, and another has a one-skein scarf. Possibly, it will become Christmas gifts for someone.
I did draw the line at buying the Bernat denim-style yarn for another Sitcom Chic (well, partly because while they had enough skeins of the color I wanted, it was of three different dye lots. Sigh. Typical. )
I also baked a buttermilk pie for a church dinner tomorrow. I have no idea how popular that is around here, but I like it, so if no one eats it, I'll just take the rest home.
