Yipes. Running up the stairs this morning, I caught my toe under the little overhang on a step and took a header onto the landing. I landed mostly on my left hand and now it's hurting a little.
Not badly enough that I want to run out to the doctor (and what agony would that be, facing a long train trip next week with a cast on and no ability to knit), and I can still type.
I hope I didn't really fracture anything. That arm is already a little fragile as it's the one I broke the elbow in a few years back. It's not swelling or anything so I think (I hope) I'm OK.
Last night, I dug out the little pig I was making from the Kath Dalmeny book. So many little bits to knit and then sew together - that's my main complaint with most knitted toy patterns - if I wanted to sew, I'd use fabric, and save myself the step of knitting it up first. I don't know if there are any books out there of toys purely knitted in the round, but there should be.
knitting in the round for toys just makes sense to me. I'd rather play with increasing and decreasing than with sewing lots of bits of knitted fabric together.
