Thank goodness - Blogger publishing is back up, at least for me, at least for right now.

I finished the little pig the other night (from the "World of Knitted Toys" book). It's cute, but I still think I'd rather make animals of cloth if so much sewing is involved.

I may try to modify the pattern to be knit in the round, or try to design some toy patterns of my own at some point.
I also finished the first of the fingerless mitts. And knit some on that interminable scarf.

can I add another little rant here?

If you are a student of mine, please do not skip six weeks of class and then come to me this week - when I am near the breaking point all faculty reach when they realize that they can expect 25 long papers, 40 exams, 40 homeworks, and assorted other stuff, plus end-of-term committee meetings - and ask "is there anything I can do to bring up my grade?"

coming to class for the past six weeks would have been a start.

no, I do not give extra credit. Especially when people think they can use it in lieu of actually doing the real class work.
