From socknitters: a new way of keeping track of decreases or whatever:

the M&M method. Count out as many M&Ms (or, I suppose, salted peanuts or raisins or olives or whatever appeals) as you have decreases. When you finish each one, eat an M&M.

I could see this devolve into a sort of drinking game in some circles...
