Way back in May (I think it was) I ordered some yarn from Woodland Woolworks. Two balls of Opal and a skein of Interlacement's hand-dyed "Cheyenne" sportweight sock yarn.
The man who took my order warned me that the woman at Interlacements was having problems with either a supplier or a distributor, and the yarn was back ordered. So I had him send the Opal separately. The Opal came months ago (and is still sitting in my stash....). I never saw the Interlacements and I figured, "they couldn't get any more so I guess they canceled my order." I didn't think anything more about it.
Well, last night when I got home (after a long day of lots of work), there was a puffy envelope stuffed in my mailbox. My Interlacements! It finally came back in stock!
It was so worth the wait. I got Cheyenne in the "Stained Glass" color, and it's unbelievable. It is about the most beautiful yarn I've ever seen. It's a combination of deep jewel tones - purple and sort of a tiger's-eye color and a deep green that shades into a blue-green and a pinkish maroon color. It looks very organic and very "old" or "gothic cathedral" or something I can't quite explain. I can't wait to see how it looks knit up. I'm guessing it will either stripe or spiral based on how the yarn is dyed in "chunks".
I have 840 yards. I am going to use it for socks for me and a pair of socks for my mom (it's handwash-only, and she's the only person I know who would go to the effort to handwash socks).
