The Sand sweater is totally done! Whoo-Hoo!!!

I sewed up the seams using mattress stitch (right sides together following the instructions in "Knitting in Plain English"). I used DMC embroidery floss to sew the seams - it's a lot finer than the Sand, and it turned out I had a skein in the right color (I also have a floss "stash" in addition to the fabric and yarn; I like to do embroidery, too, but haven't done any for a long time). It took almost the entire skein.

And I used a J hook rather than an I for the neckline. (I didn't have an I and I didn't feel like driving out to Wal-Mart just for a crazy crochet hook).

At any rate:
It's done
It looks good
It fits well.

Later today, I'm going to call Patternworks (I may run home at noon to do that) and see about arranging to return the 16 skeins (count 'em, 16) I have left over.

The pattern called for 14, 100 g hanks of Sand.

I initially ordered 15, 50 g hanks of Sand.
Then I looked at the pattern again and ordered 12 more hanks - making the equivalent of 14.5, 100 g hanks.

Apparently, I used 12 hanks. Oh well.

I do hope Patternworks is still honoring their "send back the 'better safe than sorry' skeins". Because after all, it was an error in the pattern that made me buy more.
