Reading link: the Bookslut

(different from the Bookb*tch I posted about months ago)

This is a blog of book-related news and odd comments on books, reading, and libraries.

Right now, in addition to other things, I'm reading "The Lovely Bones". It sounds like the kind of book you would not want to read: the topic is the rape and murder of a pre-teen girl and the effect it has on her family and friends (the pivotal event happens in the first chapter so I'm not spoiling things). But, the book is told from the victim's point of view - that's right - and she is telling it from Heaven.

It's actually kind of a charming book. I started reading it mainly because I was interested in how an author imagined Heaven but it's also really interesting to see the psychology of the family.
