So, with what was probably a ruinously-expensive credit card call from my office, I remedied the Sand problem. Twelve additional skeins will be on their way to me tomorrow. (I called the "help desk" and the woman there *went out into the store* to retrieve the yarn and make sure they had what I needed).
I'm going to start the sweater tonight. Or at least swatch for it.
I did have to take a mixed dyelot of yarn, but that should be ok - I can alternate rows on the sleeves if necessary (and I got a 25% discount, making the sweater a little less ruinously expensive for me).
Why, oh why, do yarn companies change the put-up of their skeins?
And speaking of "why, oh why" - that makes me think of Tom Jones - which makes me think of the the What's New Pussycat game. This is a little memory game where they show you pictures of cats and then you have to pick out the cat you've NOT seen. Tricky, especially at the higher levels.
And amusing. I don't know if an ESL speaker wrote the game, or if he was just intentionally trying to be funny, but when you do it right, you are rewarded with Tom Jones giving the thumbs-up, and the message: "Well done. You remember cat good. This time there will be more cats."
