Quiet weekend. Did a lot of grading. I'm gearing up for the real onslaught this week: 23 ecology papers, 18 soils lab books, and two exams to write and one to type.

Sunday I did do some fun things.

Saturday, I went to Twin Oaks Nursery in Denison (they don't seem to have a webpage, pity). I bought some more herbs - my garden now has two purple basil (smell great), a lemon basil, a coconut thyme, a German chamomile, a purple sage, a couple more tomatoes, a few zinnias, and a curry plant.

I'm guessing the curry plant is not actually edible; on the tag they only recommended it as insect repellent and as fragrance. It smells a bit like asafoetida but here are some dissenting opinions on its edibility or lack thereof.

Oh! There is also a curry plant (yup, that's what I have) pictured on a plants of Provence website! (The main website is here)
I think you are all well acquainted with my Francophilia by now. It delights me that my curry plant is something grown in Provence. Its common name there is "Immortelle"

I also knitted on the shawl for my mother. I am getting close to done, I think. I have 22" knitted (in length) and as my mother is neither very tall nor very large, I think I'm going to stop once it is 36" long.
