Decided to actually cook something tonight, as there is no water-aerobics this evening. I think part of my feeling lousy is a result of too many frozen dinners quickly reheated, or too many nights of peanut butter crackers for dinner.

So I'm going to have a nice spinach salad with onion dressing, chicken a la king, dinner rolls (ok, they are the out of a tube kind, but they are still good enough) and brownies. I'm using a different recipe for the brownies, it's out of the Mark Bittman "How to Cook Everything" book (a bit of a hyperbolic title and the book is a doorstop to lug around the kitchen, but it is useful to have so many basic recipes). He claims that they are dense and chewy. We'll see. My favorite kind of brownies are the ones that are almost like fudge with a crust. The recipe my mom always used was too cakey for me - it was only on the rare occassions that they fell that I thought they were really good.

Knitting some on the mini-Ringel socks. I'll have to decide after dinner whether I have the energy to wrestle with intarsia tonight.

I think I am coming down with something. Poo. Although, this might be a good time to get a membership at one of the video stores in town and rent a bunch of videos for this weekend. That is, if I'm not feeling well enough to work on my journal articles.

I apologize for the lack of linkage today.
