At home. "Magic Tony" the computer guy was able to recover all my files off the disk. I don't know for sure but I think anyone who can do that deserves the honorific "Magic".

The first thing I did was dumped the disk contents onto my hard drive. Now I have two electronic copies. I remember back when I was writing my dissertation, I had two copies of the dissertation on my hard drive, plus a disk copy stored in the lab where I worked, plus a couple of disk copies at home, and I regularly printed out hard copies of the revisions.

I don't know whether I was hopelessly compulsive then or if I've gotten too lax now.
