Finished, I guess

So I started a pattern for a cowl a while back. (The Clinkerbell Cowl, by Casapinka).

I don't know if there's a flaw in the pattern, or if the skein of yarn I had (a Mineville yarn) was short but I ran short - had to leave off the last bit of repeats, had to short the final ribbing by a row, and worst, I had to dig a somewhat-matching yarn out of the stash to finish the bind off.

This kind of thing annoys me inordinately and I suspect I will wear the cowl less than I might otherwise given that it's "imperfect" and I know how it is imperfect. It doesn't matter that you say "it doesn't show" or "someone who isn't intimately familiar with the pattern won't even notice!" it will bug me.

I mean I guess I chose the right match for the add-in bind-off

I still need to block it, I think - the initial ribbing curls a little.

(I will this is the second pattern I've knit from the designer in question, and the second one I've had issues with, I don't know. It could be I got a short skein of yarn - it was on sale.)

Hopefully I'll feel better about it after blocking it but it *always* annoys me to run short of yarn.

Yeah that’s annoying. But, I am very very picky and I think it looks fine. — Grace

A tear ago, you'd look like a criminal. A not-very-scary criminal, to be sure. Now, not so much...
