My friend has RALLIED and they are talking about moving her out of ICU and to a private room. She's communicative and the tubes are out.
This is fantastic, on Sunday there were a lot of teary-eyed people in church (she is very well loved and special to us) when we heard she was "being taken off the ventilator and they don't expect her to wake up."

I have three folks affiliated with my old place of work. One lost his father, another his mother, and the third writes about his wife:
The doctor came by at about 7am and told her that he DID take her appendix, half her colon, part of her large intestine and repaired a hernia and that part of the reason she has to remain in the hospital so long is they have sent out the lump to be biopsied. Now my first reaction is wtf, because it seems like this information is different again from what I got yesterday. I have called our primary doctor and asked him to get the records so we can get it explained to us by someone we know and trust.
The good thing is that Penny might be able to start making these posts herself so you won't be dealing with the paranoid second hand posts of a freaked out spouse
