This is the first thing I made over break:
It's a mini Alan Dart toy - made from the kit that came with a recent issue of Simply Knitting. A polar bear in a Father Christmas coat. The magazine named him Percy but I am thinking of him as Ice Bear after the character in the recent Cartoon Network cartoon.
(And I have to note: there was some concern my cable provider was going to drop Cartoon Network and Boomerang and also Turner Classic Movies because they were afraid they couldn't "negotiate a new package" with them. I guess they managed to, and I also guess there has been no increase in the rate we pay - often the "oh, we might have to drop these!" precedes a cost increase. But if I lost TCM and Cartoon Network, I would seriously consider going over to Dish or some other provider, even if it would mean some logistic headaches (probably having to get new cable "pulled," because of where the dish would have to go. So I'm glad that that apparently didn't happen.)
"Ice Bear likes being warm in the winter." (Ice Bear always refers to himself in third person in the cartoon. Ice Bear also apparently knits, even though he is apparently the Tough Guy of the three bears, having some martial arts skills)
Also, I came home this afternoon to a big box from Amazon. That was fast! (dang it, I love Amazon Prime. It's expensive but it's so great to have).
It's Happy Fun Disks! (Do not taunt Happy Fun Disks). All I need do now is label these and I'm ready to go for the new, improved Island Biogeography lab.
