Still not melted

Yup. I was really hopeful because it got up to about 36 here, but the roads are still icy, and of course it will get down below freezing tonight. It's weird to have this happen so early in the year; this is usually a January or February thing when it does happen.

They closed campus tomorrow, which alters the finals schedule (my 8 am Monday final is now 8 am Friday). Students are already freaking out - I've fielded several e-mails this afternoon from people who apparently only read the "CAMPUS IS CLOSED" announcement and not the next sentence that said to go check the finals schedule on the webpage for updates. (In their defense, they are all frosh, which means they're maybe  a bit less used to navigating that kind of thing and seeking information on their own).

I don't know if there's trash pickup tomorrow; I was hoping there'd be some notice. But I think I'll put the can out just in case this afternoon; it's probably more navigable now than it will be tomorrow before 7 am (my trash pickup is usually pretty early).

But yeah. I'm getting restless. I did all my laundry, the house is cleaned (I suppose I could redo the kitchen floor after baking...) and I baked four batches of cookies. (Almond bars, fudgy oat bars, "Santa's whiskers" and peanut butter blossoms).

I guess tonight I sit and knit, and tomorrow, other than practicing piano and doing exercise, I knit again. (I didn't bring any work home; I don't really have anything urgent that I can do at home, and any way, it was icing already by the time I left on Thursday...)

I love the line "Now that we're all here, we're really not all there." from that video.

While it might be a bit maddening, at least you are home safe with amenities. Yesterday we had "surprise snow" which means we were supposed to get 1" and we got over 8". It was nuts. And we were so glad not to have to go anywhere. Enjoy knitting!
