There's a lot of work in that. I didn't mind doing it, it was fun, and I feel like I learned some stuff by making it. Still, I hope my niece likes it.
I used Red Heart for washability, but it's probably also a good choice for sculptural stuff like this because it doesn't stretch like wool does. It's still kind of unpleasant on the hands to knit with, though.
And the figure can be taken apart and put back together. The joins are pretty tight but that's probably a good thing, so it won't just randomly fall apart.
And he's still smiling! I keep thinking he should have an "Oh no, bro!" expression in that photograph.

He's so cute! I couldn't imagine what a knitted Lego man would look like.
Also, I love your chair. You almost never see floral upholstered furniture anymore unless you have custom upholstery done.
