So, I got a big task done today, helping my grad advisor (I guess he's my "former" advisor, now that I've been graduated some 15 years) revise a paper. (And I really, really wanted to say, but didn't, "This needs work" - which was his catchall phrase for "This needs to be fixed but either I can't see how best to fix it or I don't want to take the time to do your rewriting for you." He probably wouldn't "get" it because he used the phrase so much that he probably didn't realize we saw it as a catchphrase, but anyway)
And in the e-mail to him, I dropped a note that I had had my paper provisionally accepted, and then it became real to me.
And I kind of feel like this:
Except for the seeing-my-boss'-car-being-towed-away-all-trashed part.
