* Bought more of what are (probably) 6th wave blindbag ponies at Mart of Wal this morning. Got Apple Fritter - another Apple Family member. (Green pony with lighter green hair; she's shown up in a few of the episodes where an additional Apple Family member is needed; she's like a cousin to Applejack or something) She is *super* cute and also has a different eye-paint - they are sort of the curved-on-the-bottom "smiling" eyes sometimes used in cartoons. And I got a pegasus pony called Banana Flip or some such. And one of the Wonderbolts! It looks like Soarin' but the card says Spitfire (oops).
* Rewatched the "Babs Seed" episode of MLP this morning. I maintain, despite what some critics have said, that it's a not-unrealistic depiction of what happens with bullying - that the bullied kid picks on the next person down the line to try to gain the approval of people who might be bullies. Because that's my own experience. Also I admit to wanting to scoop up the Cutie Mark Crusaders at the point where they're just really down about being teased by Babs and say "But it gets better. Trust me." Again, I think the show is a quality show because it can evoke those thoughts and feelings in an adult, and give a pretty visceral memory of childhood bullying. (And what I experienced was in no way as bad as what some kids get: mine was pretty much the garden-variety "let's pick on the egghead" and "this one cries easily so let's go after her.")
* I can't decide if it's a little sad or if it's wonderful that I am so cheered up by the prospect of being able to get new and different Pony figurines, and being able to rewatch episodes of the show.
* Where have all my "flying bird" cable needles gone? I can't find ANY of them. When I turned a cable while watching tv this morning, I had to use a short dpn. I guess this afternoon I take a trip to the quilting/knitting shop to see if they have any needles. (I may have to move the little wastebasket from the side of my knitting chair; I've picked row counters out of it before and it's possible the cable needle fell in and got put out with the trash.)
* Got an e-mail back from my chair on some of the concerns I expressed. It looks a lot less dire than I thought, and it looks like she's going to do more to fight it than I thought, even though two fairly big things are on the line for her if she goes against Certain People. (And it bothers me that those things may be affected by this; they are really unrelated. But that's how office politics seems to work. I'm really, really bad at office politics, I'm coming to learn. The one upside? All my venting on this to her has probably shown how I would be ill-suited to be a Chair in the future, so I probably won't be tapped for it. And I know I would be really ill-suited: I can't play the games you sometimes have to play, I'm too much of a people pleaser, I let things eat at me too much)
* So I'm going to take this weekend off (at any rate: I still need to finish the Sunday school lesson and do my piano practice still) and do what I want, and not think about what the future might bring. (Heck, an asteroid might hit the earth or something, and all this worrying about the future of how I teach may be for naught).

"One Bad Apple" (though I preferred the working title "Bully For You") left me with all kinds of mixed emotions. I'm not really sure they meant to go so strongly in the direction of "Do unto others before they do unto you." On the upaide, the little (1:49) "Babs Seed" tune is my second-favorite song of the entire series. (No points for guessing the first.)
Apple Fritter, says the wiki, is part of wave seven. There exist, on the show anyway, two other ponies with similar designs and unofficial names: Violet Fritter and (I love this) Marmalade Jalapeno Popette.
