Part of it is seeing what I have to do, but a big part of it is the psychological satisfaction of being able to cross things off as they're done.
And I found what I need to do is to put achievable goals on there. No
1. Cure cancer
2. Figure out the secret of cold fusion
3. Broker world peace
(Or in my case, nothing like "Write an entire journal article today!!!!)
Also, I find I need to put on there things I would be doing "anyway" (and that I have to do, like "Prep chapter 4 for Biostats) because as I said, a big part of it is the satisfaction of crossing stuff off as it's done.
I also try to keep them manageable: no more than six or seven things for a given day. (And let some of those things be small, like "Update class BlackBoard pages")
2. Been browsing the new issue of Twist Collective Now I want to knit lots of things and start lots of projects. I bought a couple patterns from there - Ahni, and the Altocumulus shawl, and a pattern for socks named Xylem. This is a gorgeous magazine but I admit I find the format a little hard to browse...and you have to go to the "shop" in order to find a pattern if you want to buy it. (I wish you could get it in 'real' magazine format - like a paper magazine to subscribe to. I admit it, I'm a luddite when it comes to e-books and the like: I want the words in literal ink (or toner) on literal paper.
3. I never mentioned that I had received and tried both the Pony-themed teas from Adagio tea. But I did - I've had them for well over a week.
The "Rarity" tea is fine, no real complaints. But the mint flavor does come on pretty strong and that's mostly what you taste.
The "Fluttershy" tea, on the other hand, is wonderful - light, delicate, faintly sweet (even with no added sweetener). You can definitely taste the fruit that it is flavored with, and the fruit adds a lot. I really, really like this tea. It's a blend of fruits, white tea, rooibos, and it may have a bit of black tea in it too. But it's just a very pleasant tea and good for a hot day. (Yes, I even drink hot tea on hot days. My maternal grandmother drank hot coffee on hot days and claimed that it made her feel cooler). It's definitely a different feel from something like the Butterbeer tea - which is rich and robust and what I think of as a "winter" tea. This one is more of a "summer" tea and I really find it to my liking.

You may be Fluttershy at heart, but that checklist-making business is pure Twilight Sparkle.
