I do still knit. So here are a couple of photos.
The finished gift-socks. I often package knitted gifts this way, especially if the recipient is someone (like my mother) who wants to know the proper way of washing the item. This is the first project I ever knit with yarn from the new yarn section in the local quilt shop. I used the "Caledonian Mists" pattern that I used a while back for socks for myself.
And the Twilight Sparkle socks. Or, the first one, just up past the gusset decreases. I'm pretty happy with these. I love doing a simple ribbed sock pattern with self-patterning yarn.
And finally, Oscilloscope:
This is a garter-stitch lace (that is: nearly every stitch is knitted on both the right and the wrong side). It's easy for me to forget that and I've had to rip back a row now and then where I purled on the wrong side rather than knitted. I'm really hoping that when I get it done I won't find a spot where I did that but didn't notice it before.

I've decided I "deserve" some kind of treat after the week or so I've had. I think I'm going to take a trip either today or tomorrow to the local quilt shop and use my $20 loyalty card....and maybe just buy some more stuff for the fun of it. I did see a quilt pattern in the new Quilter's Newsletter that I like and that might be fun for some of my accumulated fat quarters, but I will need a tie-together fabric for the sashing.
