Do you think...

It would be seen as "mean" and snarky for me to make a sign of this and hang it up in my classroom. Or turn it into a Powerpoint slide and randomly slip it into some presentation I do on class with all my charts and graphs and stuff?

Because, to be honest - people are doing it again (probably pre-spring-break burnout) and it's getting to me. (Of course, it's always the people whose grades are, shall we say, deep in the ocean* who do it)

(*Below C level. See what I did there?)

Until some special snowflake wails, "Yeah, but they're live streaming my great uncle's funeraaaaallll!"

But seriously, I've known professors to call campus police when they see students on phones or computers. If libraries can post signs about not using cell phones, universities should too.

I'm in favor of making it Highly Visible, thus eliminating at least one potential excuse.

No. I don't think it's mean.

Not mean at all. It's a humorous reminder.

C00L IDEA! No, it wouldn't be mean (ok, I never do this thing in class, but everyone else does) It's a great idea and you have every right to do this. I wish all the teachers had such ideas!
Sincerely,
