Yesterday was an assessment-testing day here, meaning we cancel classes so some of the students can take tests.
I used part of the day to start writing out a plan for my summer research, so I will know what I will need to do to plan, and how I will carry it out once I start doing it.
But I also took a little time off in the afternoon. I sewed a bit more on the current quilt top (Still don't have alllllllll the four-patches done), and I also dug around and found a piece of plain yellow fabric that will work for sashing with those sort of magenta-purple fat quarters I put a picture up of the other day, AND found two pieces of fabric that will work for borders on that quilt.
(Maybe my new fabric rule should be: I can still buy fabric, but when I plan a quilt, I have to use at least some stash fabric in every one. Or something like that.)
I also pulled out the long-stalled embroidered pillowcases (photo of the first one, completed, is here). I decided I want to get these done, finally, so I can start some new embroidery project. (I have only one good hoop, and don't really want to hunt around to buy another). So I worked on that for a while.
